  • In the Calibration group you will enter the source strength and calibration date.

Select the model of seed to use (e.g. I-125 IAI-125A) from the Radionuclide name menu. The popup list is created when the program launches by parsing the master data folder for physics files.

InventoryEntryName

Enter the Mfg. lot number (11 characters maximum) and a name for this entry (e.g. some abbreviation of the patients name) in the text fields.

InventoryEntryNumSources

Type the number of seeds in the two text fields, or select the number of seeds (e.g. 17) from the popup menu to populate both fields simultaneously. The leftmost text field is the current seed count remaining in inventory, the text field closest to the popup menu is the number of seeds ordered. For a new entry, both entries should be with the same number. The current count will decrease as seeds are installed in the plaque.

In the Calibration group box
  • Type the range of source strength into the two text fields, or simply select a source strength (e.g. 1.0) from the midpoints popup menu to populate both fields simultaneously.
  • The leftmost text field is the lower end of the range.
  • The rightmost ('to') text field is the upper end of the range.
  • For a new entry, both entries should be the same number.
  • You can update the range numbers after the actual sources have arrived.
  • The midpoints menu lists standard values from data in the physics file.
InventoryEntryMidpoints

If you simply enter 1.0 as the source strength, you can use the Implant Calculator to determine the source strength required to meet the surgical schedule. The inventory entry will be automatically updated.

InventoryEntryDate

Use the date & time controls to enter the source assay date.

Changing an inventory entry

The sources in a plaque are copies of inventory entries at the time the source was pulled from inventory and put into the plaque. Changing an inventory entry does not automatically propogate to the sources in the plaque. If you change an inventory entry and a plaque contains sources from that inventory entry, you will be alerted and prompted to update the sources in the plaque to reflect those changes.
