plaque location

In the plaque location window you can precisely position and orient the plaque and its carrier (if it has one). In most circumstances it is easier to position and orient the plaque by simply clicking & dragging it in the Patient Setup and Retinal Diagram windows. The Center button in the Retinal Diagram window automatically centers and spins the plaque (ie sets the tilt angle) to balance the suture eyelets. Eyelet balancing is explained below. Orientation controls for the carrier are also available in the Plaque window.

  • Z axis - rotates the plaque around the eye's Z axis.
  • Y axis - rotates the plaque around the eye's Y axis.
  • Center on Tumor Base - rotates the plaque around the Z and Y axes to center the plaque under the tumor base.
  • Tilt - spins the plaque about its own center.

Note: the plaque spin controls in the Patient Setup and Retinal Diagram windows also adjust plaque tilt.

    RotatingPlaque
  • Carrier - rotates the carrier within the plaque.
  • Balance Eyelets - spins the plaque to make a designated pair of suture eyelets equidistant from the limbus. The pair of balancing eyelets is selected in the Eyelet Editor window when creating a plaque model.
