Tips & Tricks
- Keyboard:
- The page up & page down keys scroll through the window's images.
- The up & down arrow keys also scroll through window's images unless a measuring tool or drag region is enabled.
- The right & left arrow keys scroll through the frames of a multiframe image file unless a measuring tool or drag region is enabled.
- The arrow keys nudge the measuring tools and regions in 1 pixel increments (the measuring tool must be enabled to nudge a tool, the region "drag" button must be enabled to nudge a region)
- The option-arrow key combination resizes measuring tools and regions (the measuring tool must be enabled to resize a tool, the region "drag" button must be enabled to resize a region).
- The screen capture F key (default is F13) captures the current full screen to the printer. The screen capture F key can be customized in preferences.
- Command-screen capture F key (e.g. command-F13) captures the frontmost window or dialog as a QuickTime graphic file (e.g. jpg, gif, tif, etc...).
- Menus:
- The unmodified edit menu copies the current region-of-interest to the clipboard.
- Shift-click the edit menu to copy the current region-of-interest's statistics to the clipboard.
- The unmodified edit menu copies the measuring ruler distances to the clipboard when a measuring ruler is active.
- Shift-click the edit menu when a measuring ruler is active to copy the pixel profile to the clipboard.
- Option-click the edit menu to copy the displayed image to the clipboard.
- Control-click the edit menu to copy isodensity data to the clipboard.
- Control-shift-click the edit menu to copy ROI isodensity data to the clipboard.
- Cursor:
- Command-click anywhere in the image to drag it.
- Click on an isodensity color palette box to toggle the color on-off. Disabled isodensity colors are marked with an X.
- Option-click on an isodensity color palette box to change the color.
- Control-click on the isodensity color palette to rotate the colors left.
- Command-click on the isodensity color palette to rotate the colors right.
- Click in the histogram to increase histogram magnification.
- Option-click in the histogram to reduce histogram magnification.
- Shift-click on a Point of Interest (POI) to delete it.
- Option-click on sliders for real-time "live" response.
- Control-click on any button marked with triangle in its lower right corner for a contextual menu. You can also click & hold for about 1 full second to bring up the contextual menu.
- Click in the magnification readout placard in the bottom left corner to enter a precise magnification.
- Double-click anywhere in the print preview window to set printing magification and page layout preferences.
